Why do you attend conference every year?

The annual conference provides a unique opportunity for the Ungerboeck community to come together to hear about upcoming enhancements, provides a platform to give constructive feedback, obtain support, and build a rapport with both Ungerboeck staff and key users from various industries.

The conference caters for all backgrounds and experience of attendees so whether you are a beginner through to an Ungerboeck veteran, there is always something new to learn.

How do you approach registration and do you have a business strategy behind this?

The Melbourne Racing Club have previously selected power users to attend the Asia Pacific Conference, however this year potential applicants from the Ungerboeck User Group are required to a submit business case for approval by management.

The business case will need to contain various sessions they are interested in attending, how the sessions are relevant to the individual and their team, and the expected value they expect to obtain from the conference overall.

Each of the submissions will be reviewed and aligned to the Clubs strategic goals in the next 12-18 months, therefore ensuring that the right users have been selected to attend. This process will not only ensure maximum benefit to the Melbourne Racing Club, but will also challenge attendees to analyse how they can increase Ungerboeck usage and efficiencies in their day to day roles.

How do you disseminate that information back to your organisation? What activities are put in place to make sure your utilising the knowledge gained throughout the conference?

Post conference, attendees review the key conference learnings and highlights, and organise ideas and initiatives into action phases; immediate action, project specific action, or a wish list item.

The conference review and analysis will be presented to the wider Ungerboeck User Group who will then disseminate learnings to their respective teams.

Is there anything else you wanted to share?

As well as being a great way for organisations and individuals to increase their knowledge and understanding of Ungerboeck Software, the conference is a great team building experience. It puts a fun spin on Ungerboeck and makes the brand more personable; which is invaluable for user engagement throughout the year.
