Why do you attend conference every year?

Regional Facilities Auckland Limited (RFA) is the largest Ungerboeck site in New Zealand (NZ) with over 220 active users. In 2017, RFA transitioned all our operating divisions to Ungerboeck financials, and the system is used extensively across our business for CRM, sales, event management, memberships, financials and integrations or interfaces with other systems including POS, time administration and SAP. RFA’s annual conference attendance has increased from one attendee in 2010 to six in 2017, to now boosting our presence further by sending at least 14 people to this year’s conference.

It is business critical for RFA that we ensure we are utilising the system to its fullest potential and maximising value for RFA.

Ungerboeck does not have a New Zealand presence. RFA needs to be largely self-reliant in developing and supporting the system and we must take opportunities such as the annual user conference to ensure we are keeping up with industry practice, opportunities and advances in the system. It is also a great opportunity to meet with peers in our industry and grow our networks.


How do you approach registration (i.e. selecting who will attend)? Do you have a business strategy behind this?

RFA has an organisation-wide Ungerboeck User Group. Attendees tend to be members of the user group as these are the people that are tasked with driving good practice in their operating divisions. We also consider upcoming projects and ensure that we are sending the people who will be instrumental in delivering those projects. In 2018, RFA will also be sending at least one person at executive level in recognition of the importance of the system and our relationship with Ungerboeck to our organisational success.


How do you disseminate that information back to your organisation?

RFA uses the Ungerboeck User Group to disseminate knowledge gained at the conference. Members of the user group will also be sharing their discoveries with their colleagues
